Potter Website Hosting

Potter Website Hosting is the managed service that publishes and serves complete merchant websites. A website can include a home or landing page, About and Contact pages, product and service pages, a shop, checkout, and other experiences created for the merchant’s business.

Potter hosts these websites on Potter-operated infrastructure. We accept public internet traffic, maintain the proprietary website engine and templates, manage TLS certificates, and serve each request over a protected connection.

Potter’s website engine, rendering system, templates, and hosting operations are proprietary Potter intellectual property. A Box license does not grant a license to run, copy, distribute, modify, or self-host them. Customers receive the hosted website service for the duration and scope of their agreement.

What the service provides

  • Complete merchant websites. Not only a shop: the service can publish the merchant’s full public web presence, including informational, marketing, and commerce pages.
  • Managed hosting. Potter operates the website infrastructure, deployments, availability, and traffic handling.
  • Secure public connections. Potter provisions and maintains TLS certificates, commonly described as SSL, and serves supported domains over HTTPS.
  • Domain-aware delivery. The requested domain identifies the organization and merchant website the visitor intended to reach.
  • Data separation. Merchant business records remain in the customer-operated Box and are not moved into a shared Potter merchant database.

Commercial model

Website hosting is an ongoing Potter-operated service and may be charged separately from the Box software license. Pricing can account for the websites served, custom domains, traffic, bandwidth, TLS certificate management, and the operational resources required to run the service.

Paying for Potter Website Hosting purchases access to the service. It does not transfer ownership of, or grant a software license to, Potter’s website engine, templates, source code, or hosting infrastructure.

Domains

Merchant websites can use organization domains, merchant subdomains, or approved custom domains. See Domains & launch for setup and verification.
